Writing in the sun

We are learning how to actively listen and look around and to then write about the moment we are in.  We did this in class yesterday and as not much has changed when we look around, and it's such a nice day.  We went out, found a comfortable place to sit or stand and let the sounds, sun and scenery inspire us.

Art Action

Looking at primary and secondary colours.

We started off with a simple shape, painted 1 primary colour each, mixed the primaries to make secondaries and then painted one each of those.

Lots of fun.  Lots of mess.

 

  

  

Literacy Learning in Action

Reading to learn, now that we have learnt to read.

We have been reading to learn and learning new and interesting things while we read.
We have been reading about changes over time in New Zealand.  Some of us have been looking at changes in NZ Pop Culture (Poi E, TVs, Movies, Rappers).  Some of us have been looking into the changes in NZ population (how and why it's changed since the 1800s).  Then the rest of us have been looking at changes in transporting and getting around NZ (Steam vs electric trains etc).
